The Hungarian participation in the CHIST-ERA SAMBAS: Sustainable and Adaptive Ultra-High-Capacity Micro Base Stations project was carried out at BME with funding from the NRDI Fund (Contract No. 2019-2.1.7-ERANET-2022-00050, HUF 60,113,988). The project is now approaching its professional and financial closure.
The project aims to reduce the energy consumption of IEEE Wi-Fi and 3GPP mobile networks using locally harvested renewable energy—without any perceptible impact on user experience. BME focused on optimizing various mechanisms and strategies for 5G and 6G mobile networks.
