Objective:
A mellékszakirány harmadik tárgya a már megismert hálózati elemekből épülő hálózati architektúrákat ismerteti. A tárgy célja áttekinteni a hozzáférési-metro-gerinc hálóztok tervezését, felépítését, működését, üzemeltetését és vezérlését többrétegű és többtartományos architektúrákra is, beleértve útvonalválasztási, hálózatvédelmi és forgalomirányítási kérdéseket is. Kitérünk az optikai hálózatok matematikai modellezésére is ami a fenti funkciók megértését, megtervezését és megvalósítását teszi lehetővé.
