Our student received an NJSZT Special Award at the innOtdk Finals

The finals of the 1st innOtdk, jointly announced in March 2025 by the National Scientific Students’ Associations Council (OTDT), the Hungarian Innovation Association (MISZ), the John von Neumann Computer Society (NJSZT), and the National Innovation Agency (NIÜ), were held on 17 October 2025 at Óbuda University.

The aim of the program is to provide authors of submissions containing innovative elements with the opportunity to receive mentoring and financial support, enabling them to implement the subject of their research.

In the long term, the initiative aims to motivate young people to engage, within the framework of scientific student activities, in projects that may be marketable or offer social benefits.

At the finals, the Special Award of the John von Neumann Computer Society was awarded to our doctoral student, Patrik Péter Szmida, who developed a neural network–based solution to support the strategic decision-making of professional Counter-Strike players. His supervisor was Professor László Toka from our department, and his mentor was László Gulyás, Associate Professor at the ELTE Department of Artificial Intelligence.
