Objective:
The aim of the course is to guide students through the integration of systems for mobile / wireless services through case studies. Integration is understood horizontally (between different systems) and vertically (between different protocol layers). Systems to be presented without the need for completeness: home automation / smart metering, mobile payment, traffic-dependent navigation, congestion-based public transport, e-tolls, etc.

Short topics

Introduction, mobile network basics to the extent required for the subject. Client-server communication in mobile networks, the most common client-server communication solutions among mobile applications. Home automation, remote monitoring, vehicle monitoring solutions: control and regulation tasks that can be performed, wired and wireless communication modes within the system (CAN, WLAN, ZigBee, etc.), communication modes used to remotely control the system. Car2car, incar (entertainmant + diagnostics) communication. Traffic-dependent navigation: GPS systems with TMC receiver, navigation solutions based on Internet traffic information, social navigation systems. E-toll systems (HuGo, EuGo, etc.): presentation of e-toll systems, comparison of solutions, demonstration of the operation of on-board units. Online cash registers. Warehouse applications. Smart metering, remote reading. Mobile payment methods. Use - based public transport. Looking to the future.
