Objective:
The subject aims at a system-wide discussion of high-speed wireless and wired networks. After a general introduction to the systems, it details the roles and responsibilities of the system components down to the depth of radio network design. In addition, we focus on the planning of the frequency resource of radio systems, frequency management; the EMC emission and immunity design aspects of radiated waves and the physiological effects of radio waves. Following a general discussion of networks, the subject details the following networks and network elements on a top-down basis: terrestrial point-to-point microwave links, radio elements of the terrestrial mobile access network, satellite telecommunication systems - satellite telecommunication on-board system and ground station, satellite positioning and navigation systems, broadcasting networks, cable television network elements - copper resp. optical network solutions. Students gain proficiency in the sizing and application of wired and wireless systems and microwave components within the subject. Students of the subject will be able to select the operating frequencies and antennas of radio networks and determine the main parameters of the radio section. They will get acquainted with the basics of EM remote sensing systems, which are currently used in many fields: vehicle collision prevention, geodetic, cartographic applications, etc.
